About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Eram Talent, a division of Eram Group, provides human resources, industrial projects, and maintenance services solutions across a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, petrochemicals, power, infrastructure, water, mining, healthcare, and IT. With a strong presence across complex industrial environments, the company supports clients with specialized expertise that helps keep critical operations safe, reliable, and efficient.
This role focuses on providing process-engineering support to the power generation block, with an emphasis on equipment performance, thermodynamic analysis, operational troubleshooting, and plant optimization. You will contribute to the safe and efficient operation of utility systems by working closely with operations and technical teams to evaluate performance trends, investigate deviations, and support improvement initiatives across key power-generation assets.
If selected, the work location would be onsite at Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities
Monitor and evaluate Power Generation Block equipment performance daily using process data analysis, efficiency calculations, heat-rate assessments, KPI tracking, and dashboard updates.
Perform engineering calculations, thermodynamic assessments, equipment evaluations, and technical studies to identify efficiency losses and improvement opportunities.
Assess heat exchangers, steam-turbine-generator condensers, HRSGs, and cooling systems for heat transfer, fouling, and thermal efficiency.
Support diagnostic programs for gas and steam turbines, review monthly performance reports, coordinate with OEMs, and develop corrective actions.
Investigate process deviations, operational upsets, efficiency losses, and equipment performance issues.
Provide daily process-engineering support to Operations, recommend corrective actions, optimize operating parameters, and review SOPs and EOPs.
Support mechanical integrity programs and evaluate process impacts on equipment health.
Conduct feasibility and improvement studies covering plant efficiency, reliability, steam-cycle performance, water consumption, and emissions.
Support plant modifications, MOC activities, design notices, risk assessments, root-cause analyses, and commissioning.
Prepare technical reports, performance summaries, recommendations, operating guidelines, and unit trip reports within 24 hours of an upset.
Requirements
Strong understanding of IGCC power-generation processes, P&IDs, PFDs, and H&MBs, including syngas-fired gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, steam-cycle systems, and power-block interfaces with gasification complexes.
Advanced understanding of power-block equipment and steam-cycle systems, with the ability to evaluate equipment performance, heat rate, efficiency, and thermal losses using sound engineering principles and performance-analysis techniques.
Ability to perform heat-and-mass balance calculations, energy accounting, process-performance evaluations, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance-gap investigations.
Knowledge of mechanical integrity, asset management, process safety, Management of Change, HAZOP methodology, risk assessment, environmental compliance requirements, and plant operating procedures.
Proficiency with process simulation, thermodynamic modeling, and performance-analysis tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen Plus Dynamics, Aspen HYSYS, GateCycle, or equivalent.
Strong capability in process-data analysis using DCS, PI Historian, and performance-monitoring systems to evaluate plant performance and identify operational deviations.
At least 7 years of relevant experience in power generation plants, combined-cycle systems, steam systems, boilers, turbines, power distribution, or energy efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in petrochemical, refining, gas processing, chemical manufacturing, gasification, fertilizer, power generation, or large industrial utility operations.
Professional proficiency in English and effective communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
A PE certificate is a plus.
