We are seeking a Specialist with 5 to 7 years of experience in AS400 and COBOL to develop enhance and maintain enterpriselevel applications
Job Description
Develop enhance and maintain AS400 applications using COBOL and ILE programming Participate in the full software development life cycle including analysis design coding testing and deployment Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions Ensure application performance scalability and security best practices are followed Support modernization efforts and optimize legacy systems to improve efficiency Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure system availability and reliability Document technical specifications workflows and processes to support ongoing maintenance and knowledge sharing
Roles and Responsibilities
Design and develop robust AS400 COBOL programs adhering to coding standards and best practices Manage batch job scheduling and monitor job executions to ensure timely processing Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior developers Participate in system testing implementation and deployment activities Collaborate with infrastructure and support teams for performance tuning and capacity planning Follow change management procedures and assist in application migrations upgrades and patching Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and gather feedback Contribute to setting up and improving development life cycle processes and documentation
