About The Role
SAP Labs, LLC is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join its team in Palo Alto, California. In this full-time, in-office role, you will help enable the effective and efficient delivery of cloud services, with a focus on service uptime, performance, and scalability. You will connect product and reliability engineering with the delivery and operations of a scaled cloud portfolio. The role calls for an understanding of cloud products and how SAP cloud services are delivered across a harmonized portfolio. Working with cross-functional engineering teams, you will help automate infrastructure and workflows, improve software health, and strengthen operational practices. Your contributions will support more frequent, dependable releases and help teams respond to issues before they affect customers.
Qualifications
Applicants should bring professional experience relevant to DevOps, software development operations, cloud engineering, or reliability engineering. A bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience, is appropriate for this role. Candidates should have a working understanding of cloud products and the operational considerations involved in delivering cloud services at scale. Experience developing or automating infrastructure, workflows, or software delivery processes is expected. The successful candidate will be able to collaborate across engineering and product teams, communicate operational findings clearly, and use monitoring and incident feedback to guide improvements. A practical, continuous-improvement mindset and attention to service performance, quality, compliance, and reliability are important. The ability to work full time from the Palo Alto office is required.
Responsibilities
Act as a bridge between product and reliability engineering and the delivery and operations of SAP’s scaled cloud portfolio. Develop and automate infrastructure and workflows in alignment with best practices and operational objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support smooth, frequent software delivery and improve software performance and health. Monitor systems for availability, performance, and emerging risks, and work with relevant teams to incorporate incident feedback into future updates. Help detect, prevent, and address issues proactively. Promote compliance with software delivery and operational standards, and contribute to their ongoing effectiveness. Identify opportunities to reduce deployment cycles, strengthen software quality, and enable business teams to release features and fixes more quickly and reliably.
