This is a residential role based in Geraldton. To be considered, you will need to reside in Geraldton.
As Operations Superintendent, you’ll take the lead in delivering safe, reliable and efficient site-to-port haulage operations. You’ll lead and develop a team of drivers and supervisors, drive operational performance and work closely with key stakeholders to ensure targets are achieved while maintaining a strong focus on safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day delivery of safe, efficient and high-performing site-to-port haulage operations.
Lead, coach and develop frontline supervisors and operational teams, building a strong culture of accountability, teamwork and performance.
Work closely with the General Manager – Road Logistics to deliver operational plans and achieve key safety, productivity and business targets.
Oversee driver resourcing, rosters, shift coverage and fleet availability to maintain reliable operations.
Build strong working relationships across Mining, Port, Workshop, Safety, Training and other operational teams.
Act as a key operational contact for site stakeholders, proactively addressing issues and keeping operations aligned.
Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring transport operations meet regulatory, compliance and company requirements.
Monitor operational performance, safety trends and compliance, taking action where improvements are needed.
Use operational data to identify risks, efficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support workforce planning, employee development, onboarding and succession planning across the operation.
Skills and Experience
Proven leadership experience within transport, logistics, mining or heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of haulage operations, fatigue management and transport compliance.
Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and develop operational teams.
Strong planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Comfortable using operational systems and data to drive performance.
Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, remote operational environment.
Strong commitment to safety, accountability and continuous improvement.
