Maintenance Mechanic – JLL
What this job involves:
As a Maintenance Mechanic at JLL, you will play a critical role in preserving and optimizing the physical assets of our client's advanced manufacturing facility in Lansing, MI. Working under the direction of Facility and Operations Managers, you will provide expert maintenance and repair services across a complex portfolio of manufacturing process equipment, mechanical systems, HVAC/R infrastructure, and building automation systems. This hands-on position combines technical expertise with proactive problem-solving to ensure operational excellence, asset longevity, and a safe, high-performing environment. Your work directly supports our client's production goals and JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on manufacturing process equipment including Tank Farm Operations, Bulk Fluid Totes, Compressed Gas Systems, Regenerative Thermal Oxidizers, and Oil Mist Collectors
Maintain and repair mechanical systems including pumps, motors, hydraulics, speed and feed systems, and Cold/Hot Thermal Units with focus on temperature, pressure, and dew point control
Execute HVAC/R maintenance and repair to ensure proper heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, indoor air quality, and scavenge exhaust system functionality
Complete scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance tasks to prevent equipment breakdowns and optimize system performance
Respond to and resolve Help Desk work orders within 24 hours, ensuring minimal disruption to facility operations
Maintain and manage spare parts inventories for critical systems and equipment
Support Building Automation Systems, Building Monitoring Systems, and Utility & Piping Systems to ensure seamless facility operations
Participate in safety training, pre-task planning, and the Employee Safety Concern Process while maintaining compliance with all safety protocols and client scorecards
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of applicable working experience in general building repair and maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical
Valid state driver's license (must be maintained throughout employment)
Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs and work from heights using ladders up to 30 ft
Ability to climb a ladder with a 300-lb weight limit while carrying a tool bag weighing approximately 20 lbs
Excellent communication skills in English – both oral and written
Ability to comply with JLL and client-directed Policies & Procedures
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of an applicable technical training program (HVAC, mechanical systems, or related field)
Experience with manufacturing process equipment such as Tank Farm Operations, Compressed Gas Systems, or Clean Room environments (Class 7)
Familiarity with controller programs including Allen-Bradley, Fanuc, and Siemens
Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Monitoring Systems
Knowledge of Emergency Power Systems and Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems
Current Forklift and Aerial Lift Operator's License
Background in Audio Visual systems and camera operations
