About This Role
Every production line runs on what's available. As an Inventory Control Clerk at GE Vernova, you keep the materials flowing — accurately received, correctly labeled, properly stored, and ready when the floor needs them. Your attention to detail and reliability directly supports the people building the equipment that powers the world.
What You'll Do
Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders — labeling, sorting, and storing materials accurately and promptly in SAP (a supply chain and inventory management system).
Process all purchase order (PO) receipts and material movements in SAP, including in-transit materials, and generate the related paperwork to keep inventory records current.
Inspect incoming shipments for damage or defects, document discrepancies, and notify the supervisor or Quality Assurance (QA) department as needed.
Coordinate incoming delivery schedules with suppliers and carriers, and work closely with the Purchasing department on first article and in-process inspections.
Maintain accurate inventory levels, fulfill customer orders on time, and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to inventory control processes.
Keep your work area clean, organized, and compliant with all safety rules — and bring a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do.
What You Bring
You are organized, dependable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment where accuracy and follow-through matter every day.
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of related experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or inventory control
Physical ability to lift up to 35 pounds and perform warehouse activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling as needed
Flexibility to work overtime or weekends based on business needs
Preferred:
Experience with Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) systems, particularly SAP
Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Office applications, including Word and Excel
Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail
