Job Description
At EisnerAmper, we look for individuals who welcome new ideas, encourage innovation, and are eager to make an impact. Whether you’re starting out in your career or taking your next step as a seasoned professional, the EisnerAmper experience is one-of-a-kind. You can design a career you’ll love from top to bottom – we give you the tools you need to succeed and the autonomy to reach your goals.
We are seeking a Senior Manager to join the Technology practice, in our Hyderabad office. We are seeking someone who thrives in a growing environment and provides clients and internal partners with exceptional service. The Sr. Manager – IT Software Development Testing Lead directs the quality assurance function for custom internal and client-facing applications and custom reporting. This position owns the testing function across the software development life cycle, designs and maintains automated test frameworks, sets standards for unit and integration testing in collaboration with development teams, and leads a team of software test engineers.
Working within a Microsoft-centered technology stack, the Testing Lead brings a software development background to quality engineering: writing and reviewing testing code, building automated regression testing, integrating tests into Azure DevOps pipelines, and building report testing meeting acceptability thresholds. The role also serves as the quality escalation point for release readiness decisions and reports quality metrics to technology and engagement leadership.
What it means to work for EisnerAmper:
You will get to be part of one of the largest and fastest growing accounting and advisory firms in the industry
You will have the flexibility to manage your days in support of our commitment to work/life balance
You will join a culture that has received multiple top “Places to Work” awards
We believe that great work is accomplished when cultures, ideas and experiences come together to create new solutions
We understand that embracing our differences is what unites us as a team and strengthens our foundation
Showing up authentically is how we, both as professionals and a Firm, find inspiration to do our best work
Numerous Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) to support our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DE&I) efforts
What work you will be responsible for:
Test Strategy and Quality Leadership
Owns the overall test strategy for assigned applications and engagements, covering unit, integration, system, regression, performance, and user acceptance testing.
Establishes and maintains quality assurance standards, methodologies, entry and exit criteria, and metrics, and drives their adoption across development teams.
Serves as the quality decision point for release readiness, presenting risk assessments and recommendations to technology and engagement leadership.
Estimates testing effort and resources, prioritizes the test backlog, and confirms that testing tasks are delivered on schedule.
Evaluates and recommends testing tools, frameworks, and platform investments, including build-versus-buy analysis and proof-of-concept work.
Automated Test Development
Designs, codes, reviews, and maintains automated test frameworks and reusable libraries in C# / .NET for UI, API, database, and end-to-end scenarios.
Builds data-driven and behavior-driven automated suites, including test data management, environment configuration, and reporting.
Integrates automated regression and smoke suites into Azure DevOps pipelines with gated builds, quality gates, and automated result publication.
Monitors automation health — flaky test rates, execution time, and coverage — and refactors suites to keep results trustworthy and fast.
Sets automation targets by release and reports progress against manual-to-automated conversion goals.
Unit Testing and Shift-Left Quality
Advises developers on unit test design, test doubles, and mocking strategy, and participates in code review with a focus on testability and coverage.
Defines code coverage thresholds and static analysis rules with development leadership, and monitors adherence through build reporting.
Writes unit and integration tests directly when supporting shared components, remediation work, or teams building new test capability.
Promotes early defect detection through requirements review, design review, and acceptance criteria refinement before development begins.
Test Case Design and Execution
Analyzes requirements and design specifications to produce comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts with expected results and traceability to acceptance criteria.
Applies risk-based, boundary, negative, and equivalence-partitioning techniques to focus coverage where defect probability and business impact are highest.
Reviews and approves test cases authored by team members, providing written feedback on coverage gaps, clarity, and reusability.
Directs system, functional, regression, and end-to-end business scenario testing for new applications and enhancements.
Maintains and manages manual test scripts, automated suites, and test databases under version control.
Coordinates user acceptance testing with business stakeholders, including scenario preparation, facilitation, and results documentation.
Defect Management and Metrics
Verifies and traces evidence of reproduction for reported faults, and validates fixes along with impact analysis for related functionality.
Manages the defect life cycle through triage, prioritization, assignment, and closure, and escalates aging or high-severity items.
Tracks and reports quality metrics such as defect density, escape rate, open defect counts, coverage, and cycle time, and uses trends to guide process improvement.
Leads root cause analysis on production escapes and translates findings into concrete process or automation changes.
Collaboration and Communication
Serves as liaison among analysts, developers, architects, and business domain owners to clarify requirements and produce effective test scripts.
Keeps development teams, project management, and internal customers informed of testing progress, risks, and significant issues.
Produces well-written internal and external documentation, and conducts workshops or training on areas of knowledge as needed.
Assists and advises internal customers on technical issues, resolving assigned incidents in a timely manner and retaining ownership until closure.
Builds and maintains trusted relationships with a diverse group of clients, team members, managers, and subject matter contacts.
Team Leadership and Firm Responsibilities
Leads, coaches, and develops software test engineers, including work assignment, code and test case review, on-the-job training, and performance feedback.
Participates in hiring, onboarding, and skills development planning for the testing team, including automation upskilling.
Works with supervisors to identify and understand engagement scope, manages day-to-day activities of completing work, and assists with oversight of overall quality control of client deliverables.
Monitors workload to meet billable hour expectations and performs timely reviews of work products prior to submission to a supervisor.
Maintains the required CPE for firm and licensing requirements.
Complies with professional and firm requirements (e.g., employee handbook requirements, time entry procedures).
Other Duties:
Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties. Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes, and financial performance (e.g., procedure optimization). Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
Assists co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to support continuity of service. Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
Performs other services as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems and Decision Sciences is required. Coursework in data structures, algorithms, and software design is expected.

Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer, or comparable Microsoft credential is preferred.

10+ years of progressive experience in software quality engineering and test automation across the full system development life cycle is required.
