Your Role
OUTFRONT is seeking an experienced, data-driven Senior Photography Operations Manager to lead the planning, optimization, and delivery of high-quality visual assets for our New York market, our largest and most complex. This role is ideal for a seasoned operations leader with at least 10 years of experience who has managed teams, built scalable logistics workflows, and used AI and automation tools to improve how work gets done.
You’ll be the central coordinator for New York photography, balancing demand from Sales, Marketing, and Operations across transit and out-of-home media. You’ll also work with Regional Management and the Senior Director, Photography (head of the photography department) to find workflow solutions that modernize our scheduling and operations nationally, including AI-assisted processes and automated workflows that can scale across markets. Equally important, you’ll be a strong people leader and facilitator, skilled at building trust, managing competing priorities, and guiding conversations with senior Sales partners, staff photographers, and freelancers. While this is a senior position, it is a peer to the photography operations managers in other regions and does not manage them.
This position partners closely with the Senior Director, Photography; Regional Management; and Product and Technology teams to develop KPIs, analyze performance, and drive data-backed improvements across the photography program.
Key Responsibilities
Lead New York photography scheduling and field operations, prioritizing high-volume, time-sensitive requests across transit and out-of-home inventory.
Work alongside and support scheduling and field operations staff, and serve as a backup and resource for schedulers in other markets.
Work with Regional Management and the Senior Director, Photography, on process improvement initiatives using AI tools, automation, and low-code platforms, such as Power Automate, SharePoint, and AI-assisted routing and forecasting, to increase speed, accuracy, and coverage.
Identify manual, repetitive tasks across the photography lifecycle, from intake to delivery, and help develop scalable solutions to reduce them.
Partner with Product and Technology on system integrations, including field service management tools, dashboards, and request automation.
Build and maintain standard operating procedures, training materials, and documentation so scheduling knowledge is shared and repeatable across markets.
Run weekly priority meetings with Sales coordinators and cross-functional partners, setting expectations, resolving conflicts, and communicating schedule changes.
Serve as an escalation point for Sales and account teams on urgent or competing requests, offering clear options and solutions.
Co-develop KPIs and performance dashboards with Regional Management, and use data to identify trends, capacity gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Guide staff and freelance photographers to ensure timely, high-quality coverage aligned with client expectations and campaign timelines.
Develop deep expertise in OUTFRONT inventory, including the MTA system, to support route planning, forecasting, and proactive coverage recommendations.
Oversee the review, validation, and organization of incoming visual assets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and adherence to quality standards.
Serve as a strategic partner in shaping the long-term vision for photography operations, technology adoption, and workflow evolution.
Your Qualifications
10+ years of experience in operations, logistics, creative operations, production, or a related field, including at least 3 years managing people or leading teams.
Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives, including implementing AI tools or automation to streamline workflows.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills; able to influence senior partners and navigate competing priorities with diplomacy.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas, data modeling) and comfort working with large datasets.
Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools, such as Power Automate or similar platforms, and familiarity with AI-assisted tools.
Experience developing SOPs, training programs, and documentation for teams.
Experience with digital asset management systems; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.
Proven ability to manage complex logistics workflows in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience in out-of-home, media, transit, or field operations is a strong plus.
Detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about operational efficiency and data-supported decision-making.
The salary range for this role is $80,000-$90,000 annually. Compensation is determined during our interview process by assessing a candidate’s experience and skills relative to internal peers and market benchmarks evaluated for the scope and responsibilities of the position, and collective bargaining agreement terms. Please note that the foregoing compensation information is a good-faith assessment associated with this position only and is provided pursuant to the New York Salary Transparency Law.
