Job Summary
Elveo is looking for a Head of Global Supply Chain to own material flow from supplier to finished satellite. Working across both production and development environments this role leads sourcing and procurement, contract-manufacturer management, inventory and production planning, receiving and shipping and is accountable for the establishing a full strategic global supply base.
Success in this role requires deep experience managing complex, long-lead supply bases for electronic and electromechanical hardware, working with contract manufacturers, and scaling a supply chain team. Space experience is welcome but not required; leaders from automotive, defense, medical device or consumer electronics supply chains with high-volume, high-reliability rigor are equally valuable.
Core Responsibilities
- Set the supply chain strategy and deliver material availability for full rate production
- Lead the Production Procurement Managers, the CM Manager and the Supply Chain Manager NPD, and build the Global Supply Chain organization to the hiring plan.
- Own supplier and contract-manufacturer performance on cost, quality, delivery and capacity, including qualification, scorecards and escalation.
- Set inventory targets by collaborating with the launch program team and own inventory accuracy, kitting and the flow from receiving to the line.
- Own the material plan and production planning process, and run the weekly build-to-supply review with the Head of Manufacturing.
- Own receiving, receiving inspection and shipping and crating, including dock operations and outbound logistics for finished satellites.
- Own export-control and trade-compliance practices in procurement and shipping.
- Manage cost: negotiate pricing and terms, and drive cost-down without compromising quality.
- Partner with Development Engineering and the NPD team on long-lead items, BOM changes and the handoff of NPD parts to the production supply base.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business or a related field; MBA preferred.
- 15+ years in supply chain, including 5+ years leading a supply chain organization.
- Experience managing contract manufacturers and long-lead, complex-BOM supply bases in aerospace, space, defense, automotive or electronics.
- Proven record of scaling supply through a production ramp.
- Strong negotiating, supplier-development and contract skills.
- Working knowledge of ERP/MRP planning, S&OP and inventory management.
- Working knowledge of export-control and trade compliance (ITAR/EAR).
- Excellent communication and executive presence.
- Eligible to access export-controlled technical data (for example, U.S. person status under ITAR/EAR)
