About the Role
Are you a commercially minded finance professional who can turn accurate reporting into confident business decisions?
We’re looking for a talented Finance Business Partner to own key accounting and commercial finance activities for Expo Centric Sydney. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you’ll lead month-end reporting, budgeting and forecasting, strengthen financial controls, and provide insights that help our leaders price, plan, and deliver exhibition projects profitably.
At Expo Centric, we don’t just fill roles - we build teams that create extraordinary experiences. Every position plays a key part in delivering projects that wow our clients and help us grow.
You’ll join a company that lives by its core values: Courage, Curiosity, Selflessness, Judgement, and Communication.
What You’ll Do in the Role
Own the month-end close for Expo Centric Sydney, including journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Prepare monthly management accounts, variance commentary, and project profitability reporting covering work in progress, advance deposits, and revenue recognition.
Lead annual budgeting and maintain rolling and cash flow forecasts that reflect the seasonality of the exhibition calendar.
Partner with business leaders on pricing, major projects, investment decisions, and other commercial matters requiring clear financial insight.
Coordinate with centralised Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll teams, reviewing their outputs and resolving or escalating issues to keep finance activities accurate and timely.
Maintain statutory compliance, financial controls, fixed assets, intercompany reconciliations, and improvements to Xero workflows, reporting, and finance automation.
Skills and Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience in Finance.
A CA, CPA, or equivalent qualification, with post-qualification experience in a controller, financial accountant, or senior finance role.
Strong working knowledge of Australian statutory and tax obligations, including BAS/IAS, PAYG withholding, superannuation, and payroll tax.
Experience maintaining financial control frameworks and segregation of duties within a multi-entity environment.
Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with Xero, Microsoft Office, and payroll systems.
Sound judgement, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to uphold sign-off standards under deadline pressure.
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain financial results, challenge constructively, and build trusted relationships with non-finance stakeholders.
Experience with project-based revenue recognition, shared-services models, Philippine statutory or payroll requirements, Power BI, ClickUp, SharePoint, or automation tools such as n8n would be highly regarded.
Why Join Expo Centric?
Work with a cross-border team and make a tangible impact on the commercial success of every project.
Join a supportive, values-driven environment with structured processes and tools.
Access ongoing mentoring from senior leaders and performance-based growth pathways.
Contribute to a growing business where your financial expertise shapes real decisions and outcomes.
