Work you'll do
As a PROJECT - Engineering Manager II on the Engineering as a Service team, you will be responsible for:
Lead design, delivery, and operational improvement of the C4I TVE AWS GovCloud environment, translating Navy training and mission requirements into cloud engineering plans.
Direct development of serverless, containerized, and event-driven capabilities using AWS Lambda, Amazon API Gateway, AWS Step Functions, Docker, Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) on AWS Fargate, and Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for MySQL.
Guide reusable infrastructure and environment provisioning across development, test, and production through AWS CloudFormation and GitLab continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Establish practices for secure API patterns, container hardening, automated testing, security scanning, infrastructure validation, deployment, rollback, and operational automation using Python and Bash.
Oversee least-privilege Identity and Access Management (IAM), Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) security controls, AWS Key Management Service (AWS KMS) encryption, secure secrets management, policy enforcement, AWS CloudTrail auditing, and Amazon CloudWatch monitoring.
Partner with application engineers, architects, cybersecurity personnel, and system administrators to resolve platform issues, maintain audit-ready documentation, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree
Secret Clearance
7+ years of experience designing AWS architectures, building cloud infrastructure, and developing application programming interfaces (APIs) using Amazon API Gateway.
Ability to travel 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Preferred:
Experience leading cloud engineering workstreams from design through production operations.
Experience developing AWS Lambda functions, AWS Step Functions workflows, Docker-based services, and Amazon ECS Fargate workloads.
Experience administering MySQL databases in Amazon RDS.
Experience developing AWS CloudFormation templates and GitLab CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, security scanning, infrastructure validation, deployments, and rollback.
Experience using Python and Bash to automate cloud operations.
Experience implementing IAM, Amazon VPC, AWS KMS, secure secrets management, AWS CloudTrail, and Amazon CloudWatch controls in AWS GovCloud environments.
For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in San Diego, CA, Deloitte is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This compensation range is specific to San Diego, CA and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $125,000 to $208,300.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
