Senior Java/J2ee Developer

Veriday Inc. is looking for a Senior Java Spring Developer for one of our reputed Banking clients for a 6-month contract with potential extension. You'll join the Spread Products Risk and Capital function area, building server-side components that support critical risk and capital decisions. You'll work directly with business stakeholders and global IT teams, with a real voice in the long-term strategic roadmap.

Hybrid - 3 days at the office
What You'll Do
Lead the design of server-side components and develop them in Java
Translate business requirements into sound system designs, working closely with business analysts and stakeholders
Build high-quality, scalable applications that solve complex business problems, applying software engineering best practices
Write thorough test cases to keep the codebase reliable
Plan and coordinate software releases
Provide 2nd-level support for production applications
Collaborate with globally distributed teams across time zones
Take initiative and manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision
What You Bring (Required)
10+ years of hands-on Java/J2ee development experience
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Extensive experience building distributed, service-oriented, and microservice-style architectures on cloud platforms (AWS, ECS, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes)
Strong experience building modern applications with Spring Boot and RESTful services
Advanced knowledge of multithreading and thread pools, with strong OOP and OOAD skills
Experience developing real-time, low-latency applications
Hands-on experience with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), plus a solid understanding of storage architectures and when to use each
Proficiency with Linux/Unix shell
CI/CD and code-quality tooling experience: Jenkins, TeamCity, SonarQube, Bitbucket.
Experience with message-driven architectures (Kafka, EMS) and Agile SDLC.
Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Nice to Have
Prior investment banking risk system experience (highly desirable)
Experience with message brokers
Exposure to Clojure (a big plus)
