Member of Technical Staff – Full-Stack Engineer, Capacity Planning Products

Do you want to turn complex forecasting data into fast, trustworthy interfaces that planners, engineering leaders, and finance partners rely on? As a Member of Technical Staff on the Capacity team within Cloud Economics & Capacity Management at Salesforce, you’ll build the products Salesforce uses to forecast, reserve, and optimize compute capacity across AWS and GCP. Your work will shape both reliability and cloud spend. You’ll own what you ship, from design through production.
Responsibilities
Design and ship end-to-end product features, from interactive, data-rich UIs (React, Python/Dash) through the APIs and services behind themDevelop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces using modern frameworks, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSSBuild and maintain scalable back-end services and APIs (Python preferred) with solid business logic, data models, and integrationsDesign and query databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), and optimize for performance and data integrityWork directly with product managers and stakeholders to shape requirements, not just implement themWrite design docs for features you own and take part in architecture reviewsWrite unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and improve our CI/CD pipelinesParticipate in the team’s on-call rotation: debug production issues and improve monitoring and alertingUse AI-assisted development tools effectively, holding generated code to the same quality bar as your own
Required Skills
3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including shipping user-facing product featuresStrong experience with a modern front-end framework (React or similar) and a back-end language (Python preferred)Experience building data-heavy UIs such as dashboards, tables, and charts, with attention to usability and performanceSolid SQL skills and experience designing REST APIsHands-on experience deploying to a public cloud (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure also valued)Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and troubleshoot production issuesStrong verbal and written communication skills, especially in design docs and code reviews

Experience with Dash/Plotly or other data-visualization librariesFront-end performance work: rendering, bundle size, virtualization, Lighthouse/Web VitalsExperience with Kubernetes, Trino/Presto, or AirflowExperience with monitoring and alerting toolsKnowledge of AI and LLMs, and experience using them in development workflows
