About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Staff Data Engineer to lead the architecture and implementation of enterprise-scale data platforms supporting large-scale analytics, AI initiatives, and business-critical decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in modern data engineering, cloud technologies, data lakehouse architectures, and real-time data processing while driving technical strategy and mentoring engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design and architect scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions aligned with business objectives.
Build and optimize large-scale data platforms using Snowflake, AWS, Apache Kafka, and Apache Iceberg.
Lead implementation of real-time data pipelines and event-driven architectures.
Drive data warehouse optimization, cloud cost management, and performance tuning.
Develop and enhance lakehouse, dimensional modeling, and analytics solutions.
Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute data strategy.
Mentor senior engineers and guide architectural decision-making across teams.
Lead complex, cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple engineering groups.
Support advanced analytics, AI/ML use cases, and data governance initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
10+ years of hands-on experience building large-scale data platforms.
Expert-level SQL and Python programming skills.
Strong experience with Snowflake, including architecture, optimization, and cost management.
Expertise in Apache Kafka, Apache Iceberg, AWS, DBT/SQLMesh, and modern data stack technologies.
Proven experience designing Kimball dimensional models and star-schema data warehouses.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and data governance frameworks.
Knowledge of GDPR, PCI-DSS, and enterprise data compliance standards.
Experience working with high-volume data environments processing billions of events.
Exposure to AI/ML ecosystems, MLOps, LLM integrations, and vector databases is preferred.
Experience in cybersecurity, ad-tech, subscription-based businesses, or similar large-scale data environments is a plus.
