As an architect for an infrastructure platform, you will design systems capable of serving as the brains of complex distributed products. A typical day in your role would involve thinking about the long-term evolution of our systems, building in flexibility to support future use cases, and reviewing design documents from various engineers. You'll be debugging hard technical problems, making trade-offs on how to solve them for now, while incorporating and kicking off long-term solutions. You'll help unblock junior engineers, lead exploration of new technologies and work with other architects in the company to ensure across the board we're building top-notch tech. Overall, you will be a strong technologist at Meesho who cares about code modularity, scalability, and re-usability.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Architectural Strategy and Hybrid Cloud Vision:
Hybrid Cloud and Infrastructure Evolution: Design and drive Meesho's hybrid cloud strategies, ensuring the underlying architecture is resilient, future-proof, and aligned with long-term business growth.
High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Architect robust, fault-tolerant systems and drive enterprise-wide solutions to drastically reduce MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) and MTTD (Mean Time to Detection).
System Benchmarking: Ensure the infrastructure platform's scalability matches or exceeds the rapid growth and peak-load requirements of Meesho's core application teams.
Platform Engineering and Developer Productivity:
Next-Gen IaC Frameworks: Design, review, and develop reusable Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and comprehensive automated testing frameworks to standardise how systems are built.
Operational Excellence: Build and review self-service tools and frameworks that empower developers to provision and manage infrastructure access controls independently, eliminating friction and operational silos.
Container / Serverless Onboarding: Architect and streamline the onboarding journey for service teams transitioning to high-scale containerised / serverless platforms.
Enterprise Scale, Security and Observability:
Hyper-Scale Data Platforms: Design and oversee a centralised logging and metrics observability platform capable of processing millions of concurrent requests and petabyte-scale telemetry data.
Cloud Security and Governance: Define the blueprint for cloud security, secrets management, and automated key rotation frameworks to ensure zero-trust infrastructure security.
Technical Leadership and Talent Nurturing:
Guardianship of Standards: Serve as the primary reviewer for critical infrastructure blueprints, ensuring code quality, security compliance, and architectural consistency.
Mentorship: Actively grow, mentor, and nurture young talent within the infrastructure engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
Requirements:
Bachelor's / Master's in Computer Science.
10+ years of in-depth and hands-on professional experience in the DevOps / infrastructure / systems engineering domain.
Proficiency in strong systems, Linux, open source, infrastructure engineering, and DevOps fundamentals.
Proficiency on container platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, EKS/GKE, etc.
Exceptional design and architectural skills.
Experience in building large-scale distributed systems.
Experience in scalable transactional systems (B2C).
Expertise in Capacity Planning Design, cost and effort estimations and cost-optimisation.
Ability to deliver the best operations tooling and practices, including CI/CD.
In-depth understanding of SDLC.
Ability to write infrastructure as code for public or private clouds.
Ability to implement modern cloud integration architecture.
Knowledge of configuration and infra management (Chef/Puppet/Ansible and Terraform) or CI tools (any).
Knowledge of scripting languages: Python, Shell, or Go (proficiency in any one).
Ability to architect and implement end-to-end monitoring of solutions in the cloud.
Ability to design for failover, high availability, MTTR, MTTD, RTO, RPO and so on.
Good to have hands-on experience with data processing frameworks (e. g., Spark and Databricks).
Familiar with big data technologies.
Experience with DataOps concepts and tools (e. g., Airflow and Zeplin).
Expertise in Security Hardening of cloud infrastructure application/web server against known/unknown vulnerabilities.
Understanding of compliance and security.
Ability to assess business needs and requirements to ensure appropriate approaches.
Ability to define and report on business and process metrics.
Ability to balance governance, ownership and freedom against reliability.
Ability to develop and motivate individual contributors on the team.
