Responsibilities:
Design, build, and support scalable microservices and user interfaces for Disney's Ad Platform, leveraging Java and modern front-end frameworks.
Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering peers to deliver features that enhance user-centric advertising.
Translate user stories into actionable engineering tasks with ownership from development through deployment.
Mentor and support teammates through code reviews, documentation, and informal guidance (no direct reports).
Improve system observability by implementing metrics, monitoring, and alerting solutions.
Participate in on-call rotations as part of our commitment to operational excellence.
Champion best practices in code quality, automated testing, and agile workflows.
Understand and use automated tools (AI) while adhering to company policy.
Requirements:
Minimum and Preferred. Inclusive of Licenses/Certs (include functional experience as well as behavioral attributes and/or leadership capabilities).
5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
Proficiency with Java and related frameworks (Spring Boot, ORMs, etc. ).
Experience with ReactJS or modern JavaScript frameworks (e. g., Vue, Angular), and willingness to learn new technologies as needed.
Strong background in relational databases (MySQL, Postgres), including schema and query design.
Experience working with RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Strong foundation in computer science principles, including data structures and algorithms.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in ad tech.
Experience with Spring Boot and related Spring projects, cloud platforms such as AWS, modern DevOps tools such as Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes, data streaming mechanisms such as Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and/or SNS/SQS, and frontend technologies and frameworks such as Node, React, Next.js, Express, TypeScript, and Tailwind.
B. Tech., M. Tech. Engineering, or equivalent experience.
