Senior Backend Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join our product engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in backend development using Java or Golang, cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, and solid fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimising scalable backend systems that power our products and services.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance backend services and applications.
Build robust and reliable systems using Java or Golang.
Develop clean, maintainable, and production-ready code following software engineering best practices.
Work with AWS or GCP to build, deploy, and manage cloud-based applications.
Design and optimise backend components for performance, scalability, and reliability.
Apply strong knowledge of Data Structures and Algorithms to solve complex engineering problems.
Participate in system design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making.
Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to improving system stability and performance.
Collaborate closely with product managers, frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
5-9 years of professional software/backend development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with Java OR Golang.
Good practical experience with AWS OR GCP.
Strong understanding of Data Structures and Algorithms.
Experience building scalable and distributed backend systems.
Strong understanding of OOP, concurrency, APIs, and software design principles.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience working in a product-based or engineering-driven environment.
Good to Have:
Experience with microservices architecture.
Knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems.
Experience with databases such as SQL/NoSQL.
Exposure to Docker/Kubernetes and CI/CD.
Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or similar technologies.
Understanding of system design and high-availability architectures.
