Description
We are seeking a talented Software Development Engineer with a strong technical background to join Amazon Global Selling on the Export Navigator (ExNav) team within Global Selling Foundations Technology. Amazon Global Selling enables sellers from across the world to export their products to customers shopping on Amazon's marketplaces. The growth of this business depends directly on how easily sellers, especially those from emerging marketplaces such as India, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, and Singapore, can register and conduct cross-border trade in a friction-free manner.
In this role you will build the compliance and trade automation platform that removes one of the biggest barriers to cross-border selling. Exporting a product into a new country means meeting that country's regulatory, labeling, and customs requirements, and today much of that work is manual, slow, and error-prone. You will design systems that read and interpret product and regulatory data, validate listings against destination-country rules before they go live, and give sellers clarity on import costs, HTS classification, and duties up front. You will have the opportunity to influence product owners, applied scientists, and engineers across the org as we bring AI and LLM-based solutions to a problem that touches millions of sellers and products across diverse marketplaces, languages, and locales.
Key job responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and delivery of large-scale software on the ExNav compliance and trade platform, working backwards from seller needs to define architecture and vision.
Architect scalable services that validate listings and process compliance and customs data across many destination countries and marketplaces.
Build AI, ML, and LLM-based solutions that extract structured attributes from product data and label images, and validate them against evolving regulatory rules.
Champion software development best practices, applying both established methodologies and AI-assisted tooling for code quality, testing, and debugging.
Partner with product, science, and partner engineering teams to understand requirements and priorities, and serve as a primary technical point of contact for your deliverables.
Propose new projects and system improvements, setting clear and measurable quality, performance, and cost goals in a data-driven way.
A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer on ExNav, you will be a technical leader driving decisions that shape how sellers get compliant and go live in new countries. You will take on complex technical problems directly, building high-quality and scalable systems for a global seller base. You will work closely with senior and principal engineers to shape the technical architecture while keeping direct ownership of key components, and you will help mentor engineers on the team as it grows.

ExNav is part of Global Selling Foundations Technology (GT Foundation), whose mission is to offer a Global Selling experience that enables new and existing emerging-marketplace sellers to easily Start, Manage, and Grow their business globally. GT Foundation is made up of the Exports Compliance Technology, Exports Seller Growth Technology, and Exports Seller Fulfilment teams, which together support registration, payments, compliance, business growth, and cross-border fulfilment for both desktop and mobile sellers. ExNav owns the trade and compliance charter: pre-launch compliance validation, label and document intelligence, and import cost, HTS, and duty calculation, increasingly powered by agentic and LLM-based systems. Basic Qualifications
2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
1+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
