Software Engineer II - Backend

Responsibilities:
Design APIs and develop shippable code, documentation, and unit tests for new features for digital products.
Works with fellow API Developers, Team Leads, Architects to deliver features through the creation of reusable RESTful APIs.
Collaborate with the Quality, Product, and Cloud Engineering teams to keep digital assets fully functional, secure, and up-to-date with business needs.
Perform pair programming, effectively communicate ideas with the team, and assist in systems integration, performance testing, and product releases.
Implement policies, roles, data access controls, and monitoring events; resolve system and data issues for continuous functioning of APIs.
Mentor junior developers through work product review; help with design, development tools, and development best practices.
Requirements:
Must have 4+ years of hands-on programming experience primarily using Java.
Must have 3 years of RESTful API / Server-side development experience.
Should have 3 years of experience in cloud services (preferably AWS), developing microservices, CI/CD solutions, message queue systems, and background task management.
Should have 3 years of experience in developing NoSQL (MongoDB) and SQL databases and designing data models and be proficient in querying data for quality, analysis, analytics, and ad hoc reporting.
Knowledge in API security frameworks, token management and user access control, including OAuth, JWT, OpenAPI, etc.
Experience working with API Gateway, CDNs, API Performance testing, CI/CD pipelines and monitoring tools.
Ability to work in an Agile / SCRUM environment.
Self-directed with a start-up / entrepreneur mindset.
Ravenous about learning technology and problem-solving.
Strong writing and communication skills.
