We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Android Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving field issues reported by users of our Android applications. You will work closely with our development, QA, LifeCycle engineering, Systems and support teams to ensure timely and effective resolution of issues, enhancing the overall user experience.
Responsibilities:
Triage and debug field issues reported by users of our Android applications.
Analyze crash reports, logs, and other diagnostic data to identify the root cause of issues.
Collaborate with development teams to reproduce, diagnose, and resolve issues.
Prioritize and manage multiple issues simultaneously, ensuring timely resolution.
Communicate effectively with support teams and stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide updates on issue status.
Document findings, solutions, and best practices to improve the triage process.
Continuously monitor and analyze field data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
Work with QA teams to develop and execute test plans for reproducing and verifying fixes.
Requirements:
Ability to lead cross-functional groups for speedy resolution of field issues.
Great investigational ability to Root causing the issues and bugs in our Android apps.
Development Experience with Java/Kotlin.
Knowledge of Reactive functional frameworks (Coroutine Flows, RxJava, and Realm).
Familiarity with mobile network protocols and connectivity issues.
Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git/Bitbucket.
Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Virtual Environments.
Nice to Have: Experience working in FDA, Medical and other regulated environments such as GDPR.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3+ years of native Android development and debugging experience.
Strong understanding of Android SDK, Android Studio, and related tools.
Experience with crash reporting tools and Android log analysis
Proficient in analyzing logs and diagnostic data to identify issues.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Additional Information:
Active participation in daily triage meetings in US/MX time zones (PST and EST).
Expected to collaborate with our globally distributed engineering teams based in the USA, EU and Mexico.
May require weekly/daily sync-up meetings in US time zones (PST and EST).
