The role is responsible for the execution of purchase and sales contracts, coordinating vessel cargo operations and settlements for agricultural commodities. The role ensures smooth, timely, and compliant execution of all trade activities in line with our contractual obligations and the organisation's internal policies. You will work closely with the trading team, buyers and sellers to deliver efficient trade execution and logistics performance.
The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:
Execution and Logistics:
Handling the full spectrum of contract execution, including closely monitoring logistics processes and interpreting contract terms to meet customer requirements and ensure timely appropriations against sales.
Review documentary letters of credit, track issuance, and initiate necessary amendments to ensure compliance with trade terms and conditions.
Manage letter of credit negotiation, import/export document handling, and laytime computation to facilitate seamless trading operations.
Handle all shipment-related expenses, as well as manage client receivables and payables, ensuring accurate financial records.
Prepare, check and settle laytime calculations.
Acknowledge and/or send vessel nominations, issuing vessel load orders to facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo.
Ensure all obligations arising from the contracts and charter party/shipping guidelines are complied with.
Prepare and arrange export documentation required for shipments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and trade requirements.
Monitor vessel schedules for upcoming shipments of bulk commodities and container vessels, making necessary arrangements for timely loading and unloading.
Collaborate with shipping agents, surveyors, and suppliers to address and resolve any issues that may arise during the shipment execution process.

Participate in execution and trade-related learning programs.
Perform other ad-hoc duties as required to support the overall trading and execution team objectives.
Requirements:
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, International Trade, Logistics, or related disciplines.
3 - 8 years of working experience in trading operations, logistics, or a related field within the commodities industry, preferably from the edible oils industry.
Strong understanding of contract terms and international trade practices.
Knowledge of INCOTERMS, UCP600 ISBP, FOSFA, PORAM and GAFTA terms.
Work both independently and collaboratively to achieve business goals.
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power BI.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented and a strong team player to support.
Maintain organised vessel files for internal audit, tax and legal purposes, ensuring proper documentation of all trading activities.
Maintain inventory policies and accurate month-end processes.
Support digital process improvements and other special projects as directed.

Your Profile:
