We are looking for a highly skilled Networking Software Engineer / Technical Lead with strong expertise in routing protocol development and carrier-grade networking platforms. This role involves designing and developing control-plane features for router/switch products, working on scalable implementations of protocols such as BGP, MPLS, EVPN, and Segment Routing (SR-MPLS/SRv6) in a Linux-based network operating system using C.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable routing features for carrier-grade network OS.
Implement and enhance control-plane protocols (BGP, MPLS, EVPN, SR).
Work on traffic engineering features (PCEP, LSP, protection mechanisms).
Debug and resolve complex production issues in the routing stack.
Perform code reviews, architecture discussions, and design validation.
Collaborate with global teams across development, QA, and system integration.
Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence.
Requirements:
Experience: 14 to 20 Years.
Strong hands-on experience in C programming on Linux systems.
Proven experience in networking protocol development (control-plane).
Experience working on router/switch products (not enterprise network operations).
Deep understanding and implementation experience in BGP, OSPF / IS-IS, MPLS, Segment Routing (SR-MPLS / SRv6), EVPN (VPLS, IRB, etc. ).
Good to Have:
Experience with Linux networking stack / kernel interactions.
Knowledge of DPDK / high-performance packet processing.
Experience in YANG modeling / Netconf / CLI frameworks.
Exposure to High Availability (HA), redundancy, and failover mechanisms.
Important Note:
Profiles with only network configuration, operations, or support experience will not be considered
Candidates must have hands-on development experience in networking protocols.
Ideal Background:
Candidates from companies like Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Ericsson, Arista, and Ciena.
Working on: Routing protocol development, Network OS / control-plane software, and Carrier-grade router/switch platforms.
