Job Description
Possess extensive scientific expertise in designated therapeutic areas and are responsible for providing crucial scientific support for AstraZeneca's assigned molecules to KEEs and are instrumental in fostering scientific partnerships with key external stakeholders
Embed a comprehensive healthcare system understanding with a 360 view of the entire healthcare ecosystem within every responsible HCO (Healthcare Organization), aiding in a holistic approach to patient care.
Acts as catalysts, with a deep understanding of the localized health system (environment, priorities, clinical pathways, patient journeys) and its challenges, to gather insights and execute according to the medical strategic plans to deliver strategic, scalable & sustainable clinical practice transformations, enhancing access to equitable quality care for patients and enabling the adoption of our innovative medicines.
Typical Accountabilities
Develops a comprehensive understanding of the medical strategy and priorities, crafting short and mid-term local medical strategy plans that optimize both quantitative and qualitative impacts and results.
Maintain clinical/scientific expertise in disease state management, AstraZeneca products, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.
Segment and prioritize engagements with healthcare institutions, focusing on enhancing patient outcomes and creating positive patient impact.
Organize and facilitate scientific events such as Advisory Boards/Expert Panels, with KEEs. Prioritize these events based on their relevance in the patient journey for the related disease
Collaborate with KEEs on study proposals (ESR or Local Study) and/or publications of interest to AstraZeneca.
Provide internal stakeholders with actionable items related to medical / brand strategy or clinical development based on customer perspectives.
Demonstrate the intrinsic value and efficacy of medicines, ensuring that healthcare institutions recognize their importance and benefits for optimal patient care.
Requirements
Scientific and or a minimum master’s degree in a scientific discipline; MD degree would be highly preferred.
Possesses foundational skills in presentation, negotiation, and leadership
Proven records in medical affairs with previous experience as an MSL or equivalent role is preferred.
Extensive experience in genitourinary would be a plus.
