We are looking for a highly skilled Lead AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) Engineer with expert-level proficiency in at least one communication stack, Ethernet or FlexRay. This role combines deep technical expertise with technical leadership, requiring ownership of BSW communication architecture, guidance of engineering teams, and close collaboration with system, integration, safety, and customer stakeholders. The BSW Engineer is expected to drive design decisions, quality standards, and technical excellence across projects while remaining hands-on with complex engineering challenges.
Responsibilities:
Design, configure, integrate, and maintain AUTOSAR BSW communication stacks.
Take technical ownership of assigned BSW modules across the development lifecycle from requirements to series release.
Perform BSW configuration using AUTOSAR tools (e. g., DaVinci, EB tresos, Arctic Studio, ISOLAR).
Support system integration, debugging, and issue resolution across ECU layers.
Analyze and resolve complex communication, timing, and performance issues.
Review and ensure compliance with AUTOSAR standards, OEM specifications, and internal guidelines.
Collaborate with System Architects, Application Software teams, and Testing teams.
Support customer issues, field quality analysis, and software maintenance activities.
Requirements:
Familiarity with CAN, LIN (good-to-have).
Candidates possessing a bachelor of engineering degree in computer science or electronics or electrical engineering or telecommunications or power electronics or instrumentation or a closely related discipline are required.
8+ years of automotive embedded software experience.
Demonstrated experience in technical lead or senior ownership roles.
Ethernet Stack (Expert in at least one of the following):
Architectural understanding of Ethernet-based ECU communication.
SOME/IP and DoIP integration and debugging.
Network configuration, startup behavior, and performance optimization.
Crossmodule impact analysis and issue triaging.
FlexRay Stack (Expert in at least one of the following):
FlexRay cluster configuration and schedule analysis.
Startup, synchronization, and faulthandling behavior.
Timing critical communication debugging.
Coordination with system and network design teams.
Communication and Platform Modules (Expert in at least one of the following):
Low-level driver integration and abstraction concepts.
Hardware-software interaction understanding.
Debugging at the MCAL / ECU level.
Memory and Startup (Expert in at least one of the following):
Boot chain understanding and OTA/flash concepts.
NVM robustness, consistency, and performance handling.
Interaction with diagnostics and application layers.
Functional Safety and Diagnostics Support:
Safety-related inhibition strategies.
Integration with diagnostic and faulthandling concepts.
Alignment with ISO 26262 safety goals.
Security and Cryptography (AUTOSAR Security Stack):
Secure communication principles.
Cryptographic service integration and configuration.
Key handling, authentication, and data protection concepts.
Debugging and performance analysis of security-critical paths.
Mandatory Qualifications:
Strong expertise in AUTOSAR Classic Platform BSW architecture.
Proven hands-on experience leading Ethernet or FlexRay BSW stacks.
Excellent embedded C programming skills.
Solid understanding of automotive networking concepts.
Experience with AUTOSAR configuration tools (e. g., DaVinci, EB tresos, Arctic Studio, ISOLAR).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills in safety-critical systems.
