About Electrophysiology (EP)
Abbott's Electrophysiology (EP) business provides innovative mapping and ablation technologies for the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation. Through advanced therapy solutions, we support physicians in delivering better patient care and improving quality of life.
As the EP market in Japan continues to grow, Abbott is committed to expanding access to innovative therapies and bringing greater value to patients across the country.
Main Purpose of the Role
Lead business growth within the assigned region by driving sales performance and market share growth.
Execute national strategies at the regional level while developing a high-performing sales organization that delivers sustainable results.
Contribute to the advancement of EP therapy and improved patient outcomes through strategic planning, strong customer partnerships, and effective execution.
Lead organizational growth and change in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Main Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Operations
Develop and execute regional sales strategies and business plans
Achieve sales, market share, and profitability targets
Drive growth strategies for key accounts and priority hospitals
Identify business opportunities through market, customer, and competitor analysis
Strengthen partnerships with distributors, business partners, and cross-functional teams
Manage forecasting, sales pipeline, and business risks
People Management
Coach and develop Sales Representatives and Clinical Specialists
Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance
Drive performance management and succession planning
Create and implement employee development plans
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent
Lead organizational change and continuous improvement
Share best practices across the organization
Customer Management
Build and strengthen relationships with KOLs and key healthcare institutions
Develop strategic partnerships with hospital leadership
Create and execute account strategies for key customers
Drive new product adoption and procedural growth by addressing customer needs
Market Development
Support new account development and therapy adoption
Drive market development initiatives to increase procedure growth
Identify market needs and incorporate them into growth strategies
Collaborate with Marketing and Medical Affairs teams
Increase awareness and adoption of EP therapies
Operational Excellence
Manage forecasting, KPIs, and business performance
Drive continuous improvement through data-based decision making
Optimize people, budget, and business resources
Ensure compliance with company policies and quality standards
Promote transparent and effective business operations
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree or above
Minimum 7 years of experience in Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, or related industries
Minimum 3 years of people management experience
Proven track record of leading teams and delivering business results
Strong business analysis and strategic planning skills
Experience leading or supporting organizational change initiatives
Strong communication and leadership skills
Business-level Japanese and English
Preferred
Experience in EP, Cardiology, or related therapeutic areas
Experience in Strategic Account Management
Experience managing relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs)
Experience working with major healthcare institutions
Experience collaborating with Global or APAC teams
MBA or other advanced degree preferred
