Role Description The Business Development Manager – HDFC Life Agency Channel is a full-time, on-site role based in Rajkot. This role involves recruiting, onboarding, and mentoring agency partners and Financial Consultants, and supporting them to achieve their business targets. The manager will drive sales of HDFC Life’s insurance products, plan and execute business development activities, and build strong, long-term relationships with customers and channel partners. Daily responsibilities include monitoring performance metrics, conducting training sessions, organizing local marketing initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. The role also requires close collaboration with internal teams to support product knowledge, resolve operational issues, and enhance customer experience.
Qualifications
Strong sales and business development skills, with experience in achieving and exceeding targets in financial services or insurance.
Ability to build, manage, and motivate agency partners or field sales teams, including recruitment, coaching, and performance monitoring.
Customer relationship management capabilities, with a focus on consultative selling and delivering high-quality service.
Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders and drive collaboration.
Good planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities to interpret data, identify opportunities, and implement action plans.
Knowledge of life insurance products, regulatory requirements, and local market dynamics is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or a related field; relevant professional certifications in insurance or financial services are an advantage.
Comfort working in an on-site, field-oriented role in Rajkot, with readiness for local travel as required.
