Software Engineer I

Role Summary
Our Platform Services Engineering team builds and maintains the cloud-based applications, RESTful APIs, and shared services that power Experian Software Solutions' products. We are looking for a Software Engineer to help develop both the backend services and user-facing applications delivered through our rapidly growing cloud platform. You'll collaborate closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams.
What You'll Do Here
Develop, support, and continuously improve core platform services and infrastructure components, including event-driven services, identity and access management, user navigation services, and shared platform capabilities.
Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with engineering standards using modern cloud-native technologies and DevOps practices.
Work with teams on the process of requirements gathering with various stakeholders across teams. (Product Owner, Architect, User experience, Delivery and Support functions, Site Reliability Engineering/Operations team).
Reporting to the Software Engineering Manager
Qualifications
0–2 years of software development experience, including internships, co-op programs, academic projects, or professional experience. Experience with software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, and modern application development technologies. Familiarity with one or more programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, React, Angular or similar. Exposure to cloud platforms such as Cloud AWS, databases, APIs, and software development tools through coursework, projects, or work experience. Basic knowledge of software testing, version control systems (e.g., Git), and CI/CD concepts. 1+ years of experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
