Role Description The Manager – Land Litigation – Chhattisgarh will oversee and manage all land-related legal matters for JSW Energy’s projects in the state, while being based at the Mumbai office in an on-site, full-time capacity. This role involves handling land acquisition and title verification, coordinating with external counsel and internal stakeholders on litigation strategy, and ensuring timely resolution of land disputes. The Manager will prepare and review legal documents and contracts related to land and property, track case status, and maintain accurate documentation and records. The role includes working closely with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and local representatives, while assessing legal risks, advising project teams, and supporting compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The position also requires periodic reporting to senior management on litigation progress, risk exposure, and mitigation measures.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law, with demonstrated experience in land and property-related legal work
Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting, reviewing, and vetting contracts, notices, and agreements
Experience in Litigation Management, including coordinating with external counsel, managing case timelines, and overseeing dispute resolution
Knowledge of Chhattisgarh Land Laws (SC/ST) and related regulations that may impact land and asset ownership
Understanding of Insurance as it pertains to land, property, and risk mitigation
Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B); LL.M or specialization in property/land laws is an advantage
Experience managing land litigation or real estate disputes, preferably in the energy, infrastructure, or industrial sectors
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with government authorities and external stakeholders
Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills, with attention to detail and sound judgment
Fluency in Hindi and English; working knowledge of regional languages of Chhattisgarh is beneficial.
