This Position reports to:
Service Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute commissioning activities in all types of project sizes and complexities in close collaboration with the Senior Commissioning Engineer. Each day, you will execute these activities efficiently, cost-effectively, and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your skills by supporting continuous improvement in project processes, products, and system design.
The work model for the role is: #LI – Onsite
This role is contributing to the Automation – Energy division in-Bangalore-Nelamangala region in India. Main stakeholders include Customers, Commissioning & Project Teams, and Power Plant Operations.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Executed testing, commissioning for Excitation Systems, AVR and Unitrol solutions in Hydro, Thermal, and Power Generation projects, ensuring proper system integration, performance validation, and compliance with project requirements.
Supported the planning, coordination, and execution of commissioning activities while collaborating with engineering and project teams to ensure timely completion of project milestones and seamless system handover.
Implemented commissioning-related design changes and updated as-built project documentation through technical mark-ups, ensuring accurate records and adherence to engineering standards.
Applied established commissioning processes, procedures, and quality requirements to ensure all testing and commissioning activities were executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Conducted technical risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning phases, identifying potential issues, implementing mitigation measures, and supporting reliable system operation and project objectives.
Qualifications for the role:
Experience of 2–4 years in testing, commissioning, and start-up activities of Excitation Systems, AVR/ VFD, and Unitrol solutions within the Power Generation industry.
Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electronics, EEE, E&C, or related disciplines, with effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Solid knowledge of electrical systems with practical experience in Hydro, Thermal, and Power Plant projects, supporting system integration, testing, and performance validation.
Skilled in commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support of excitation and drive systems, ensuring compliance with customer and project requirements.
Experience in coordinating commissioning activities, executing site-based assignments, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure on-time project delivery.
Willingness to travel extensively across Pan India (up to 80%) to support site commissioning, testing, and customer project requirements.
