JOB PURPOSE
The AGM- Smart Metering Contracts is responsible for managing the contractual lifecycle of bundled AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) and Meter Supply projects. Reporting to the General Manager – Smart Meter Contracts, the role supports strategic contracting initiatives while owning operational delivery, documentation, evaluation, and governance of project-specific contracts. The incumbent drives technical-commercial coherence, regulatory alignment, and timely contract administration across project phases.

Responsibilities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Smart Metering Contract & Lifecycle Management
Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle for assigned smart metering projects from tender release through post-acceptance implementation.
Support preparation and review of Letters of Acceptance (LOA), Contract Agreements, and schedules in coordination with legal and regulatory teams.
Track contract conversion milestones and drive timely execution to align with project delivery schedules.

Tender Development & Bid Evaluation
Assist in development of tender documentation, commercial conditions, and bid evaluation criteria in alignment with strategic procurement frameworks.
Coordinate technical and commercial bid evaluations, facilitating risk scoring, comparative analysis, and negotiation support.
Engage with internal stakeholders to align bid recommendations with regulatory compliance requirements and overarching project objectives.

Contract Monitoring
Monitor contractual performance of vendors and project teams, tracking key deliverables, obligations, and timelines.
Maintain dashboards and documentation related to compliance, deviations, and key correspondence.
Support project and site teams with interpretation of contract clauses and execution protocols.
TAT for Contractual Interpretation Support
Claims Management
Maintain a structured log of claims, variations, and change requests from contractors and internal teams.
Assist in evaluation and documentation of claims to drive readiness for internal review or external negotiation.
Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams in drafting responses, managing timelines, and facilitating resolution.

Draft and process contract amendments and deviation notes in coordination with internal departments.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract repositories, facilitating traceability and audit readiness.

Stakeholder Coordination
Serve as a liaison between commercial, legal, regulatory, and project execution teams to drive seamless contract execution.
Contribute to aligning contracts with current regulatory directives, internal SOPs, and evolving industry norms.
Participate in cross-functional reviews and audits to drive continuous improvement in contract governance processes.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Law/Bachelorâs degree in Engineering /CA
MBA preferable
RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
12-15 years of experience in contract lifecycle management, preferably within power distribution, smart metering, infrastructure, or energy sector projects
Experience in managing large-scale contracts, regulatory interfacing, claims handling, and stakeholder coordination in multi-stakeholder environments
