About the Company
The Junior IT Admin is the entry point for every IT request in the company: logging and resolving service calls, keeping a daily pulse on infrastructure health, running CCTV and access-control systems day to day, and handling software/hardware requests at the desk. This role does not configure the underlying platforms like AD, NAS, firewall, SIEM, but is the eyes and hands that keep them running smoothly and flag anything that needs the Senior IT Admin, Network Engineer, or Security Engineer's attention.
About the Role
The Junior IT Admin is responsible for managing IT service requests and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Service Desk & End-User Support
Own the IT service-desk queue: log, triage, and resolve L1 service calls within SLA, escalating L2/L3 issues to the Senior IT Admin or Network Engineer.
Perform software installation, uninstallation, and license activation on end-user devices.
Onboard/offboard end-user hardware: laptop/desktop imaging, peripheral setup, asset tagging, and inventory.
Maintain and update the internal knowledge base/FAQ from resolved tickets.
Infrastructure Pulse-Checks & Monitoring
Perform daily pulse-checks of core infrastructure server availability, backup job status, NinjaOne RMM dashboard alerts and escalate anomalies to the Senior IT Admin.
Monitor NAS capacity and usage, raising flags before thresholds are breached.
Maintain the printer, scanner, and general office peripheral fleet.
Physical Security Systems
Administer day-to-day CCTV operations: camera health checks, footage retrieval requests, and storage retention checks.
Support physical access-control/biometric systems, badge issuance, and access-group requests in coordination with facilities and the Security Engineer.
Asset & Inventory
Maintain IT hardware/software asset inventory and lifecycle tracking, from procurement to disposal.
Track software license usage at the device level and report compliance gaps to the Senior IT Admin.
Qualifications
2-3 years in a service-desk, IT support, or junior system-administration role, with hands-on exposure to Windows/Linux desktop environments and ticketing tools.
Required Skills
Windows/Linux desktop troubleshooting, printer, and peripheral setup
Basic Active Directory user/computer object handling, under supervision
