Technical Lead, Blockchain & Application Development
Location: Raleigh, NC

Summary
eClerx is seeking a highly motivated Technical Lead to guide our Application Development team's technical implementation of enterprise software, including its blockchain and digital-asset infrastructure.
As Technical Lead, you'll drive the technical direction and ensure delivery excellence. You must have a strong technical foundation in full-stack engineering, including hands-on experience integrating blockchain and Web3 technologies into enterprise systems, along with a passion for scalable and secure design and a hands-on approach to mentorship and problem-solving.
You will play a pivotal role in leading the design and delivery of performant, secure, and intuitive applications, including blockchain-integrated capabilities.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with Architects, oversee the technical direction of a squad
Drive successful delivery of solutions, ensuring quality, performance, and scalability
Build test automation across the full stack of our software and enforce engineering best practices
Optimize application performance and reliability in a cloud environment
Implement blockchain integrations; node connectivity, transaction submission, event monitoring, wallet/custody interactions, and signing/approval workflows, using enterprise Java and Web3 libraries
Write, test, and deploy smart contracts (Solidity or equivalent) following established security practices; handle full transaction lifecycle; submission, confirmation, idempotency, and failure/reversal handling, with audit-friendly logging
Serve as the technical authority and primary point of contact for the squad
Guide architectural discussions, code reviews, and implementation decisions
Ensure adherence to coding standards, architectural principles, and security best practices
Establish and evolve the technical foundation and culture of the squad
Guide architectural and security decisions for the squad's blockchain integrations, partnering with security team on key-management and custody standards
Partner with Product Managers and Technical Project Managers to define scope, timelines, and priorities.
Communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders clearly and proactively.
Collaborate with other leads to ensure alignment across squads and technical domains.
Provide day-to-day technical mentorship, unblock challenges, and foster a culture of continuous learning
Discover ways to increase team productivity and efficiency through improved processes and tooling
Mentor engineers on blockchain/Web3-specific concepts and integration patterns as part of ongoing team development
Eligibility Requirements
8+ years of full-stack development experience, with strong backend expertise (Java/Spring Boot)
Strong understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization
Extensive hands-on experience owning and designing end to end solutions built on blockchain/DLT platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Solana, Hyperledger Besu, or Canton/Daml), including transaction lifecycle (gas, nonce, confirmations, finality) and event processing
Strong understanding of wallet/custody infrastructure, key-management patterns, and building audit-friendly, idempotent transaction flows in regulated or security-sensitive environments
Experience with frontend frameworks (React/Angular) using TypeScript/JavaScript
Proven experience leading technical projects or teams in an agile environment
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
In the US, the target base salary for this role is $170K-$225K. Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications, and geography. We expect the majority of candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall throughout the range based on these factors
