Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Azure APIM Engineer to build, secure, and scale enterprise API platforms. You will manage the entire API lifecycle from design and publishing to monitoring and maintenance within Microsoft Azure.
Location- Chennai
Key Responsibilities
API Design & Development: Build and configure enterprise APIs, microservices integration, and gateway routing rules.
Policy Management: Configure APIM policies for authentication, rate limiting, response caching, transformation, and error handling.
Security & Governance: Implement OAuth, JWT, API keys, and managed identities to protect endpoints against vulnerabilities.
CI/CD Automation: Build and maintain deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Monitoring & Support: Track performance, analyze logs, and troubleshoot traffic bottlenecks using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 4–6+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 2–4 years of hands-on work in Azure API Management (APIM).
Protocols & Formats: Deep understanding of REST APIs, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, XML, and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
Core Skills: Proficiency in backend technologies like C# (.NET Core), Java (Spring Boot), or Node.js.
Cloud & Networking: Knowledge of Azure services (Function Apps, Logic Apps) and networking essentials (SSL/TLS, DNS, VNet integration).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with API migration projects (e.g., MuleSoft or Apigee to Azure APIM).
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) experience using Terraform.
Familiarity with AI gateway integration or Large Language Model (LLM) token management in APIM.
