We are seeking a highly skilled Support Engineer to provide advanced technical support for our data analytics platforms, reporting systems, BI tools and applications. This role serves as an escalation point for challenging issues requiring deep technical expertise and problem-solving skills in data analysis and business intelligence solutions
Key job responsibilities
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex data and technical issues
Monitor and optimize BI platform performance
Investigate and resolve sophisticated problems with data pipelines
Collaborate with data engineering, analytics and development teams to identify and implement solutions for product issues
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and knowledge base articles
Provide guidance on best practices for report development
Participate in on-call rotations for critical data support needs
Conduct root cause analysis for significant data incidents
Develop and implement proactive measures to prevent recurring issues
Contribute to the improvement of BI support processes and procedures
Liaison between support data engineering, analytics and development teams to ensure effective communication
Support data modeling and visualization standards
Technical Skills
Database management and SQL – Query optimization, Data modeling, Performance Tuning
Data visualization tools expertise (e.g., Quicksight, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker etc.)
ETL/ELT process and optimization knowledge – Data pipeline design, Data warehouse concepts, Data quality management
Advanced troubleshooting and debugging techniques
Data security and governance best practices - Data access controls, Compliance requirements, Data privacy standards
Secondary Technical Skills
Data and API integrations
Scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Networking protocols and configurations
In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
Basic Qualifications
Experience identifying and resolving complex issues
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Engineering(DE), Business Intelligence, Analytics, Information Systems or related field
1+ years of experience in BI/technical support roles.
Strong understanding of relevant technologies and systems
Experience with BI/DE ticketing systems and support processes
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in a relevant technical field
Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., Quicksight, PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, Snowflake, ITIL, CompTIA, relevant vendor certifications)
Knowledge of one or more programming languages
Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
Experience with performance analysis and optimization
Experience in a SaaS or enterprise software environment
