Principal Architect — Kavach (ATP) / Railway Signalling

Tata Elxsi's Rail & Off-Highway business is hiring a Principal Architect to augment the team's capability with deep Kavach domain expertise.
Read this before applying. This role is about domain and specification depth, not software architecture. We are not looking for someone to design our software — that capability exists. We are looking for authoritative knowledge of the Kavach specification to guide the team that does.
What you will do
Serve as the technical authority on RDSO Kavach requirements for our engineering programmes
Translate the specification into system behaviour, interfaces and constraints the team can build against
Review designs, test strategies and compliance evidence against the Kavach specification
Advise on TOC/RCT, station interface data and system-level operation
Build lasting Kavach competency within the team through structured knowledge transfer
Support customer and PMC technical discussions, design reviews and approvals
What we are looking for
8+ years in railway signalling, with demonstrable depth in Kavach / TCAS
Command of the current RDSO Kavach specification and how it has evolved
Familiarity with SIL-4 safety requirements and the associated assurance process
Background from RDSO, Indian Railways, or an RDSO-approved Kavach supplier strongly preferred
Ability to explain requirements clearly and credibly to engineers new to the domain
Software development experience is welcome but not required.
