Position Summary
Jaipur Rugs is seeking an experienced and strategic Purchase Head to lead the procurement function across the organization. The role is responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring timely procurement of yarn, dyes & chemicals, machinery, equipment, spare parts, and indirect materials, while optimizing cost, quality, and delivery. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, commercial acumen, and experience in manufacturing procurement.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Lead sourcing, vendor selection, negotiation, and contract management.
Ensure uninterrupted availability of yarn, dyes, chemicals, machinery, equipment, spare parts, and consumables.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising quality or delivery.
Category Management
Manage procurement of:
Yarn (Wool, Cotton, Silk, Viscose, etc.)
Dyes & Chemicals
Machinery & Manufacturing Equipment
Engineering Spares & Maintenance Materials
Packaging Materials
General Consumables & Indirect Purchases
Vendor Management
Develop and maintain a robust supplier base.
Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews.
Build long-term strategic partnerships with key vendors.
Identify alternate suppliers to minimize supply risks.
Commercial Negotiation
Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, payment terms, contracts, and delivery schedules.
Finalize Annual Rate Contracts (ARC) wherever applicable.
Monitor market trends and raw material price fluctuations.
Inventory & Supply Planning
Collaborate with Production Planning, Stores, Finance, and Operations to forecast procurement requirements.
Maintain optimum inventory levels while reducing excess stock.
Ensure timely procurement to support production schedules.
Compliance & Governance
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and statutory requirements.
Maintain accurate procurement documentation and audit readiness.
Drive ethical sourcing and supplier compliance.
Team Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop the procurement team.
Establish KPIs and monitor procurement performance.
Promote continuous improvement and best procurement practices.
Process Improvement
Drive procurement digitization and ERP optimization.
Standardize procurement processes and reporting.
Implement cost-saving initiatives and value engineering projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
MBA/Post Graduate Diploma in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement is preferred.
Experience
10–12 years of procurement experience in manufacturing.
At least 5 years in a leadership role managing procurement teams.
Experience in procurement of yarn, dyes & chemicals, machinery, engineering equipment, spare parts, and manufacturing consumables.
Experience in the textile, carpet, home furnishing, or manufacturing industry will be preferred.
