Role Description This is a full-time, on-site SCADA and Protection Engineer role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. The engineer will design, configure, and implement SCADA systems, protection schemes, and communication interfaces for substations and power system projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing system architectures and logic diagrams, preparing engineering documents, and configuring HMIs, IEDs, and protection relays in line with IEC 61850 and related standards. The role involves performing system testing, factory and site acceptance tests, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting commissioning activities to ensure reliable and secure operation of protection and automation systems. The engineer will collaborate with project managers, field teams, and technology partners, provide technical support to clients, and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices and solutions.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong foundations in Electrical Engineering and Power Systems, including protection principles, substation equipment, and grid operations.
Candidates should possess hands-on experience with SCADA and Human Machine Interface (HMI) configuration, communication protocols (e.g., IEC 61850, Modbus), and system integration.
Candidates should possess advanced Troubleshooting abilities for protection relays, automation systems, and control networks in utility or industrial environments.
Candidates should possess proficiency in reading and preparing single-line diagrams, wiring schematics, logic diagrams, and technical documentation.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field; a master’s degree or specialized training in power systems or protection and control is an advantage.
Experience with substation automation, protection relay configuration tools, and commissioning of SAS/SCADA projects is preferred.
Strong analytical and communication skills, ability to work safely on-site, and willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and client stakeholders.
