Role Description
The Information Technology Security Consultant is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandigarh. The consultant will assess, design, and implement security controls across IT systems, networks, and applications, ensuring protection of sensitive data and compliance with relevant standards. Daily responsibilities include performing security risk assessments, monitoring for vulnerabilities, reviewing security incidents, and recommending mitigation strategies. The role involves collaborating with IT and business teams to develop security policies, conduct security awareness sessions, and support secure deployment of new technologies and services. The consultant will also document security procedures, prepare reports, and stay current with emerging threats and best practices to continuously improve the company’s security posture.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including risk assessment, threat analysis, and security governance.
Candidates should possess solid Network Security skills, such as configuring secure network architectures, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Candidates should possess Application Security skills, including secure coding principles, vulnerability identification, and remediation across web and mobile applications.
Candidates should possess a broad Information Technology foundation, including operating systems, databases, cloud platforms, and IT infrastructure management.
Relevant certifications such as CEH, CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent are highly beneficial.
Experience with security tools (SIEM, vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection) and knowledge of standards/regulations (ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR or similar) are advantageous.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
