Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Safety Officer role located in Hata. The Safety Officer will monitor workplace conditions, conduct regular safety inspections, and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Responsibilities include identifying potential hazards, supporting risk assessments, and coordinating corrective actions in collaboration with operations and management teams. The role involves organizing and delivering safety training sessions, maintaining safety documentation and incident records, and assisting in accident and near-miss investigations to determine root causes and preventive measures. The Safety Officer will also liaise with internal stakeholders and external agencies on safety matters, promote a culture of safety awareness, and support emergency preparedness and response activities.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Health & Safety and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply relevant regulations and standards in an industrial setting.
Experience in Accident Investigation, including root-cause analysis, reporting, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
Knowledge of Security practices related to site safety, access control, and emergency response coordination.
Ability to develop and deliver Safety Training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for diverse teams.
Relevant diploma or degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related discipline; professional safety certifications are an advantage.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to influence safe behaviors and collaborate across functions.
Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and proficiency in documenting inspections, incidents, and safety performance metrics.
Familiarity with local legal and regulatory requirements related to workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
