Role Description The New Product Development Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chengalpattu, responsible for driving the design and development of new products and systems related to steam, air, and hot water solutions. In this role, the engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs and market requirements into robust product concepts, detailed designs, and validated prototypes. Daily activities include performing engineering calculations, creating and reviewing 3D models and drawings, conducting research and development tests, analyzing performance data, and supporting product validation and certification. The engineer works closely with manufacturing and quality teams to ensure designs are producible, cost-effective, and compliant with safety and industry standards, while providing technical support during product launch and early deployment. The role also involves continuous improvement, documentation of design decisions, and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful new product introductions.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, including applied mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials relevant to steam, air, and hot water systems.
Demonstrated experience in Product Development and Product Design, including concept generation, 3D CAD modeling, engineering drawings, and design for manufacturability.
Hands-on experience in Research and Development (R&D), including testing prototypes, analyzing data, and iterating designs based on performance and reliability findings.
Effective Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, present technical information clearly, and engage with customers and partners as needed.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Experience working in industrial, energy, or process industries is highly beneficial.
Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations for mechanical and thermal systems, and basic knowledge of project management practices.
Ability to work on-site in Chengalpattu, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative, values-driven engineering culture.
