Role Description The Co-Writer role at Playlife is an on-site position based in Mumbai. In this role, the Co-Writer collaborates with lead writers and other creative team members to develop concepts, outlines, scripts, and dialogue for various projects. Typical responsibilities include brainstorming story ideas, refining plot structures, revising drafts based on feedback, and ensuring consistency in tone and character development. The Co-Writer may assist with research to support realistic and compelling narratives, participate in writers’ rooms, and help prepare materials such as pitch documents or presentation scripts. This role requires regular coordination with directors, producers, and editors to align written content with overall project goals and production timelines.
Qualifications
Strong writing and storytelling abilities, with the capacity to craft clear, engaging, and character-driven narratives.
Collaborative mindset and experience working in team-based creative environments such as writers’ rooms or content studios.
Ability to take constructive feedback, revise content efficiently, and adapt to different formats, genres, and audiences.
Excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in additional languages commonly used in Mumbai is an advantage.
Attention to detail, including maintaining continuity in plot, character arcs, and tone across multiple drafts.
Strong time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Previous experience in scriptwriting, screenwriting, or content creation for film, TV, games, or digital media is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Creative Writing, Film, Media, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
