Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Consultant Neurologist to join our premier medical faculty. In this senior role, you will provide expert, independent clinical leadership in diagnosing, managing, and treating a diverse range of complex neurological conditions. You will collaborate with an exceptional multidisciplinary team of neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, and rehabilitation specialists to deliver outstanding, evidence-based patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence: Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations, evaluate intricate patient medical histories, and provide expert diagnostic assessments.
Diagnostic Interpretation: Order and interpret advanced diagnostic modalities, including MRI/CT neuroimaging, Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction studies, and cerebrospinal fluid analysis.
Treatment & Management: Develop, implement, and monitor specialized therapeutic plans for acute and chronic conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, and neuromuscular disorders.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Actively participate in interdisciplinary tumor boards, stroke team alerts, and rehabilitation planning meetings.
On-Call & Emergency Care: Participate in the departmental consultant on-call rota to provide emergency neurological evaluations and stroke interventions (e.g., thrombolysis management).
Leadership & Governance: Lead clinical audits, contribute to quality improvement initiatives, and mentor junior medical staff, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Graduate medical degree (MBBS, MD, or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
Specialization: Postgraduate qualification/board certification in Neurology (e.g., DM, DNB, CCT, or American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology certification).
Licensure: Valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine and register as a specialist with the local Medical Council.
Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of working experience at the Consultant or Senior Registrar level is preferred.
Core Competencies: Advanced clinical reasoning, empathetic communication skills, crisis management proficiency, and a strong commitment to medical ethics.
