Director of Frontend Engineering

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Director of Front-End Engineering to lead our Cornerstones Experience domains. You will own the federated, module-federation architecture powering a massive consumer platform (comprising the core shell, micro-frontends, and shared design systems). This is an outcome-driven leadership role for a true engineering partner who takes end-to-end accountability for business outcomes, delivery quality, and team building, acting as a peer to global leadership rather than a downstream execution vendor.
Responsibilities:
Outcome and Domain Ownership: Take full, end-to-end accountability for specific business experience domains (e. g., Checkout, Solution Builder) from technical strategy to production health.
Engineering Leadership: Scale, lead, and run self-sufficient delivery pods comprising 50+ engineers, implementing lightweight governance over bureaucratic processes.
Hiring and Talent Magnetism: Own the complete talent lifecycle- hiring, vetting, and retaining elite front-end engineering talent capable of competing with top-tier product startups.
Architectural Authority: Act as a technical partner to global counterparts, driving front-end architectural decisions, debating trade-offs, and ensuring implementation aligns with design without drift.
Cross-Geo Collaboration: Function as a seamless extension of onshore leadership, building direct ties with Salesforce, SRE, backend, and integration teams across time zones.
Modern SDLC Innovation: Champion modern delivery mechanics including AI-assisted SDLC tools (planning/delivery agents), guardrails-over-gatekeeping CI/CD pipelines, and robust telemetry.
Requirements:
Leadership Breadth: 15+ years of software engineering experience, highlighting at least 5+ years in a Director or equivalent senior leadership role managing 50+ engineers.
Global Delivery Models: Proven success scaling engineering teams within a Global Capability Centre (GCC) or global delivery model, pivoting from staff augmentation to true outcome ownership.
Micro-Frontend Mastery: Deep conceptual and working knowledge of federated front-end architectures, Module Federation, shared application shells, and independent MFE deployments.
Modern Tech Stack Fluency: Comfortable steering teams building on React 19 TanStack Router/Query, Rspack, Vitest, and visual regression testing frameworks.
Systems Integration: Solid grasp of how modern front-ends integrate with backend API layers, MuleSoft, and Salesforce CRM ecosystems.
Observability and Production: Familiarity with modern observability, telemetry pipelines, and AIOps tools (e. g., New Relic, Dynatrace) to defend domain health in production.
Industry Domain: Prior experience in Telecommunications or large-scale digital/e-commerce retail platforms is a strong plus.
