Responsibilities:
Implement cloud-first observability using Logging and OpenTelemetry.
Define SLIs/SLOs for integration reliability, data freshness, latency and error rates.
Build dashboards and alerts for proactive detection of sync failures, rate-limit breaches and automation regressions.
Security and Compliance: Design systems that comply with HIPAA, SOC 2 and other healthcare data protection best practices by default. Implement least-privilege access, IAM, service-to-service authentication and secure secrets management on GCP.
Ensure encryption in transit and at rest for all PHI and sensitive data.
Partner with security, legal and compliance stakeholders during audits, reviews, and risk assessments.
Proactively identify and remediate security risks in integrations, automation and data pipelines.
Event Streaming and CDC: Design and operate systems using SQL and NoSQL databases.
Build event streaming pipelines using Pub/Sub and downstream consumers.
Implement CDC (Change Data Capture) patterns to keep downstream systems consistent while minimising full re-syncs.
Requirements:
4+ years of professional software engineering and full-stack experience.
Proven experience integrating with large-market and/or mid-market EHRs.
Strong proficiency in TypeScript and frontend experience with React or similar frameworks.
Hands-on experience with FHIR, HL7 and other healthcare interoperability standards.
Experience building RPA/agentic automations using Playwright or Puppeteer.
Experience with GCP and GCP-managed services in production.
Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, event-driven systems and CDC.
Experience designing observable and production-grade systems.
Practical experience building secure and compliant systems handling PII/PHI.
Bonus: Experience with HIPAA audits, SOC 2 controls or compliance-driven environments.
Deep experience with Pub/Sub, Cloud Run, GKE, BigQuery or Firestore.
Familiarity with SMART on FHIR, OAuth2 and EHR vendor auth patterns.
