Engineering Leader

Responsibilities:
Designing, prototyping and demonstrating new features and components of front-end and back-end to users to ensure compliance with requirements.
Assisting in the design, implementation and optimisation of related approaches, tools, and workflows.
Collaborate with the technical teams, business teams, and product managers to ensure that the code that is developed meets their vision.
Design the solutions to meet functional and technical requirements.
Supervise/Manage all aspects (including coaching, providing direction, staffing, delivering reviews, setting aligned objectives, time reporting, etc. ) of direct reports' overall performance.
Ensure that the project's contribution to the customers' business goals is met and that customer satisfaction with the project and conclusion is high.
Collaborate with the portfolio Directors, General Managers, Managers, Dev teams, Architects & other stakeholders on deliverables for the Onboard Services applications.
Responsible for working with a group of managers who are responsible for Flight Operations deliverables and other daily administrative tasks and projects, which include technical support, point of contact for issues, creating reports, and monitoring service levels.
Ensure that the Delta standards and procedures are adopted and implemented.
Consult with other technology groups to ensure project or product integrity.
Establish and follow project accounting processes and procedures to effectively track, record and control project expenditures, and submit required project financial reports.
Keeps abreast of industry trends through benchmarking and participation in professional associations to lead strategic business direction.
Communicate the Departmental leadership vision/strategy and then manage people and technology to follow that direction.
Monitors metrics, problems and trends to determine solutions and required process changes that will make the function more efficient.
Competent with AWS Architecture and usage.
Background in Architectural Design.
Requirements:
BS/MS, preferably in a technical or scientific field, with 10 or more years of experience in an Agile environment, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.
Strong leadership ability with a track record of developing people and achieving challenging objectives.
8 or more years of hands-on experience as a Software Engineer or related technical engineering capacity.
Relevant technologies and programming languages include Java, C, SpringBoot, Angular, JavaScript, JQuery, SQL, SpringJMS, and SpringBatch.
Experience in designing, developing, and deploying RESTful microservices and using Swagger, JSON, XML (for legacy services), Postman, and SoapUI.
Professional experience working with Agile Methodologies is required.
Experience working with DevOps principles, practices, and tools in an enterprise technology environment is required.
Experience in engineering software within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Red Hat OpenShift cloud infrastructure, or other prominent enterprise cloud provider is required.
Working knowledge of the full Software Development Lifecycle, and building CI/CD pipelines is a requirement.
Fundamental Awareness of Application Security principles and 12-factor application development principles is required.
Experience with source control, build tools, and GIT (GitHub, Bitbucket or other) is required.
Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL, PL/SQL, and writing/maintaining Stored Procedures and functions.
Familiarity with tools like TOAD and SQL Developer is a plus.
Experience with cyber security and working knowledge of OAuth2 JWT and concepts like PCI, PII and Privacy Design.

Airline industry knowledge is a plus.
