Communicating and Influencing:
Act as the primary liaison between the UK digital teams and the Virgin DTH scrum teams, ensuring clear, consistent communication.
Represent the Virgin DTH Digital team in local forums and leadership discussions.
Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across VA and DTH to enable smooth delivery operations.
Provide regular and transparent updates to leadership on progress, risks, and issues.
Leadership and People Management:
Lead and manage the Virgin DTH-based scrum teams, ensuring high performance and alignment with VA digital goals.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and staff development within the Virgin-DTH Digital team.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team culture.
Act as the point of escalation for team issues and support staff well-being.
Conduct regular performance reviews and support career progression.
Ensure local compliance with HR and organizational policies.
Lead and manage a team of software developers (Android, iOS, and full stack), AI/ML engineers, and SDETs.
Mentor and provide support to the team.
Digital Delivery and Agile Execution:
Drive Agile delivery practices across Scrum teams, ensuring consistent and high-quality output.
Support the successful delivery of digital products and services through effective team coordination.
Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and sprint planning activities.
Collaborate with product owners to prioritize backlogs and manage capacity.
Address and mitigate risks and blockers to delivery in real time.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Provide updates and reporting on Virgin-DTH delivery activities to UK and global leadership.
Represent the Digital team at local and global meetings and forums.
Ensure alignment between Virgin-DTH teams and overall digital strategy.
Operational and Local Hub Management:
Ensure Virgin-DTH teams are equipped with the tools and environments needed for success.
Coordinate closely with facilities and IT for smooth operational management.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes and ways of working.
Monitor and report on local delivery KPIs and metrics.
Act as the face of the VA Digital team locally, building pride and engagement in the hub.
Requirements:
BE / B Tech or ME / M Tech, preferably in a technical or scientific field, with 14 or more years of experience in an IT project-based environment, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training is required.
5 years of proven experience in software engineering resource management or a related role, with a strong understanding of software development and support processes and Agile methodologies.
Must be technically astute to whiteboard solutions to articulate design.
Proven experience in leading teams across front-end, back-end, full-stack development, and mobile app development.
Experienced in leading AI teams with a strong foundation in machine learning and generative AI.
Strong leadership and people management experience, ideally in a multi-location or global environment
Demonstrable experience in stakeholder management and cross-functional team collaboration.
In-depth understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban).
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in Team Leadership: Managed, mentored, coached, and developed teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
Experience in resource allocation, capacity planning & resource utilization.
Experience in performance management by providing regular performance feedback, recognizing achievements, and addressing areas for improvement.
Strong experience in leading diversified software development teams (Android / iOS development, AI, full stack, etc. ).
Strong understanding of quality and security practices.
Experience with automation of quality, compliance, and testing frameworks (BDD / TDD).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in IT engineering resource management.
Experience in Team Leadership: Managed, mentored, coached, and developed teams, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.

Strong background in software development and knowledge of SDLC processes.
Understanding of various technology stacks and well-versed in the latest developments in software development and AI/ML.
Strong knowledge of the cloud (AWS / Azure) is an added advantage.
