Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing new and existing components to fulfill the functional and technical requirements. The components need to support failover and be highly scalable, secure, and resilient under heavy load. You will be involved in all the aspects of the SDLC starting with initial business requirements until the production deployment and including 2nd level production support.
Responsibilities:
Communicate with business owners, business operation people, and business analysts from the different departments to understand and shape the requirements.
Understand the potential as well as the limitations of the existing processes, services, and used platforms.
Design, develop, and maintain responsive and high-performance user interfaces for the D7 platform using ReactJS and modern JavaScript/TypeScript technologies.
Ensure that the solution and its implementation comply with the DBG SDLC standards.
Plan and execute the transition from test into production - contribute to 2nd level production support.
Stay open-minded and understand the broad context of implementing and operating software components in a highly regulated environment.
Requirements:
University degree in computer science.
12+ years overall professional experience in IT with a focus on frontend and DevOps.
Expertise in modern JavaScript (ES6+), and extensive hands-on experience with React.js and its ecosystem (Redux, Hooks, etc. ).
Strong proficiency in HTML5 CSS3 and preprocessors (SASS/LESS), with an understanding of responsive design principles.
Extensive experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins and OpenShift, including pipeline scripting (Groovy, Shell).
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) is a must.
Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git.
Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
Excellent communication skills - You explain the IT topics in a manner understandable to people without an IT background. You do not hesitate to ask questions, express your doubts, or kindly challenge ideas during discussions. You have no problem admitting and accepting mistakes.
High degree of self-dependence - You are self-motivated, looking for opportunities to improve things or your own skills constantly. You take responsibility and are motivated to deliver.
Team player - You are able to work with people of different backgrounds and personalities; you are happy to help and share your expertise. You appreciate the skills of others and ask for opinions or reviews easily.
Excellent written and spoken English skills (German, French, Luxembourgish, or Czech is a plus).
Previous experience in the financial sector.
Solid experience in configuring, optimizing, and maintaining NGINX as a web server, reverse proxy, and load balancer.
Experience with backend development in Java/Spring Boot.
Experience in BPMN modeling.
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL).
Team-leading experience.
Understanding the advantages and limitations of test automation.
Knowledge of Camunda.
Experience with Kafka/MQ/OAQ.
