Senior Software Engineer - Progress 4GL

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in OpenEdge development and JavaScript-based web applications. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and supporting business-critical solutions related to bookkeeping, project management, and system integrations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to a product used in both hosted and on-premises customer environments.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain applications using OpenEdge 12.2/12.8 and JavaScript.
Support and enhance both WebClient and browser-based versions of the application.
Develop and maintain integrations/interfaces with external systems.
Work with OpenEdge, Oracle, and SQL databases for application development and optimization.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex application and production issues.
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and architecture decisions.
Collaborate with QA to ensure product quality and reliability.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members.
Support deployments and customer-specific configurations in hosted and on-premises environments.
Requirements:
4+ years of software development experience.
Strong expertise in OpenEdge 12.2/12.8 and Progress ABL (4GL).
Solid JavaScript development experience.
Strong database experience with OpenEdge DB, Oracle, and/or SQL Server.
Experience developing and supporting web-based applications.
Experience with application integrations and interfacing.
Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization skills.
Experience working across the full software development lifecycle.
Ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
