Key Result Areas (KRAs) – Thermal Power Plant (Operations)1. Plant OperationsObjective
Ensure uninterrupted power generation from the Thermal Power Plant (TPP) to support cement manufacturing operations.
Supporting Actions
Review and customize operating instructions as per site requirements.
Implement operational strategies and plant operating philosophy as guided by superiors.
Conduct internal energy audits and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Perform forced outage analysis and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate daily Operations Team Review meetings.
Identify plant abnormalities, operational losses, and coordinate with maintenance teams for resolution.
Liaise with service departments for day-to-day operational requirements.
Support shutdown planning and execution from the operations side.
2. Plant Performance OptimizationObjective
Improve plant performance, efficiency, reliability, and work environment.
Supporting Actions
Monitor daily operating parameters and deviations from optimum conditions.
Identify causes of low availability, partial loading, and performance deterioration.
Analyze critical performance parameters and implement optimization measures.
Conduct regular field inspections to verify equipment performance.
Monitor and control false air ingress in the system.
Analyze heat rate and contributing losses.
Monitor boiler performance and take corrective actions for abnormal conditions.
Analyze equipment-wise power consumption and implement optimization initiatives.

Ensure accurate reporting, budgeting, cost monitoring, and regulatory compliance.

Update TM1 budgeting systems and manage MIS budget provisions.
4. System Implementation & Continuous ImprovementObjective
Ensure effective implementation of WCM, TQM, ISO, ENMS, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Supporting Actions
Implement projects to reduce repetitive breakdowns, losses, and operational issues.
Submit Kaizens, OPLs, Good-to-Fine suggestions, and improvement initiatives.
Develop and sustain model areas within operations.
Actively participate in KFA and GRT meetings.
Promote technology adoption, innovation, and productivity improvement initiatives.
Conduct awareness programs for operational teams.
Ensure compliance with IMS and audit requirements.
Implement SOPs for critical spares and consumables.
Identify and rectify leakages, unsafe conditions, and emission-related issues.
5. Safety, Environmental & System ManagementObjective
Ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, IMS, and sustainability requirements.

Ensure 100% compliance with safety standards and recommendations.
Train employees on job responsibilities, hazard identification, and control measures.
Conduct scheduled safety observation rounds.
Report accidents, incidents, and near-misses promptly.
Conduct daily Tool Box Talks and SWP discussions before critical jobs.
Participate actively in safety trainings, committees, and events.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and minimize wastage of utilities.
