Senior Engineer – Python Developer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru for a Senior Engineer – Python Developer. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and applications using Python, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability. The Senior Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, create technical specifications, and implement robust software solutions for Matter’s platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, testable code, reviewing peer code, optimizing existing systems, integrating APIs and services, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. The role also includes mentoring junior developers, contributing to architectural decisions, and ensuring best practices in software development and deployment are consistently applied.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with significant hands-on experience in Python.
Experience in Back-End Web Development, building and maintaining APIs, microservices, and server-side logic.
Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their practical application in Python projects.
Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, and familiarity with ORM frameworks.
Knowledge of software design patterns, version control (e.g., Git), and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work in a collaborative, on-site environment, communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is advantageous.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Background in automotive, mobility, or energy systems domains is a plus, along with a strong interest in sustainable technologies.
